Hi guys, just wanted to share the progress on my jdm low mileage swap. While the motor is out, I made the following upgrades and installs:
1. SS oil cooler lines
2. Oil cooler thermostat thermal pellet (Atkins)
3. Racing beat header
4. New oem water pump
5. New oem thermostat
6. new header and intake gasket
7. new silicone radiator hose kit (Autobahn88)
8. new front wheel bearings (pair)
9. new oem coolant reservoir tank
10. new oem coolant cap
11. new oem radiator
12. Flush and refresh dual oil coolers
A lower temp oil cooler thermostat is going to be a better option than a solid bypass pellet. You will more than likely experience troubles maintaining a good oil temp with some bypass pellets.
Hi Ricky, I wanted to try this out since a local Rx8 enthusiast runs them and said he has had good results so far. I also spoke to Atkins rotary which seems to always give great advise and feedback with anything rotary. They are relatively easy to remove from what I saw so I can always swap in the stock or after market low temp ones if I change my mind.
