Also, you said this happens at 600 miles? Isn't the break-in 700-1000 miles?

Maybe after you get the cylinder and assembly inspected then you should wait it out if possible?

You're not supposed to be at that RPM range yet.

I have over 1400 miles on the clutch now and it has exactly the same problems as with 500 miles, and I did take it very easy on it until about 1000. Even after 1000 miles I maybe got on it 2 to 3 times.

After talking with a transmission specialist about my problems he thinks that I have either bent or broken fingers on the pressure plate, but I think they may just be cheap and weak. I also have a problem with a squeaking sound while in neutral, but if I press the clutch pedal down a few times it will stop for a little while. I think that is a problem with an uneven surface on the disc or a bad alignment.

Right now I am in the middle of moving so I haven't had time to visit the trans shop, but I will be have a few days off on February 3rd and I will be getting some new tires then so I will see if the shop can check out my clutch. I will post an update right after that.

Some advice to those preparing to replace their clutch...

I recommend that no one skimp on their clutch, you do not want to doubt the quality of the product. If you do, you may be the next one stuck wondering whether you have a bad clutch, or a bad install. If you need to save some money at least get a clutch in the middle, just to give yourself some confidence in the product. The clutch is far to important to be taken lightly.

I feel like I'm driving a 10 year old beater now...
