If your key doesn't match the ecu anymore due to having to replace the keyset, will you still be able to power on the car to get odb info and basic functionality like lights? Or will it not even do that?

As far as Iknow the PCM will not recognize that key and will not command anything to work/turn on....

 

Lights work straight off the battery, so yes, they will work,
The ECU will power up, I'm pretty sure it will give codes, but defo won't run.

With new keys, only the Ford/Mazda 'dealership' computer can get it to run or accept new keys.
