I Think its flooded :(

Hi All,
I am new to all this, i have a 2.6 2004 RX8, it has been in the bodyshop for about 4 weeks and when they have come to start it, it cranks over fast enough but does'nt fire up, there is a smell of petrol and i have been told it is flooded, i would be very grateful if anyone could tell me the easiest and most effective deflooding procedure, i heard that you had to remove a fuse etc but not sure which one so any pics etc along with instructions would be great.
Thanks
Dan.

I used that today to deflood mine. Worked fine.
And you don't have a 2.6. It's a 1.3. 2.6 would be a 4 rotor.

If you floor the accelerator before turning the key, it disengages the fuel.

Hold the accelerator down, turn it over for 3 seconds. Let it sit for a bit, do this a few times. Then turn key off, lift accelerator, and try to start normally.

This has always worked for me, never got under the hood.

The solution, if you move the car a short distance, rev the engine to about 4-5K and then turn the key off and let the engine wind itself down. This will pump out any excess fuel.

Put your car in first gear, hold the clutch in, Have someone push your car until your going about 5mph, pop the clutch, when the car starts push your clutch back in and go or let the car warm up for a few.
