The Professor
Under the rear differential for the rear, and under the front crossmember for the front.
For the jackstands, you can just use the factory jack points outlined in the manual.

2x4's? Hey, thats a great idea! Hear I am under the front of the car jacking it up with a screwdriver in the jack 0.0783 inches for every downstroke, banging knuckles at every stroke. Thanks!

I built some ramps out of 2x10's to get the car up high enough to allow use of a floor jack. I also sometimes jack up the side of the car with another jack at the points indicated in the manual and then slide the floor jack under the front or rear jacking points. Like static says, you can use the side jacking points for jack stands or just pick out a good solid section of the "frame" rails.
Finally, do a search of the forum. As I recall, someone in the past posted pics of their suggested jack stand points.
