HID Install Help

So I have the fron light housing sitting next to me, completely disconnected form the car.

I have my new bulbs I want to install right next to me.

On the back of the housing, that holds the Xenon bulb,

It says DO NOT OPEN HIGHT VOLTAGE CAN KILL.

Now, Im assuming since its disconnected from the car, that it has no power running to It so there is no danger, but I want to check first to ensure I dont kill myself.


Can anyone help??

without having seen the actual setup, i can't say for sure, but it is possible that the lights are still leathal after being disconnected from the car. capacitors can hold charges for a very long time, even when completely disconnected from a power source (tvs and computer monitors can remain dangerous for a week or more after being unplugged).

so i would recommend you find out if there are capacitors in the housing, where they are, and the proper way to discharge them, or if you still feel uncomfortable after doing the necessary research, pay someone who knows what they are doing.

I know lot of guys have done it on these boards, and havent had much trouble.

Although, the did have the service manual.

I think it should be ok, but any input from someone who has installed would be greatly appreciated.

Once it is disconnected it does not have any power. Either way, the circuit board is coated in epoxy, so it would pretty hard to get shocked.

I got it about an hour and a half ago, and just got back from takin her out for s spin.

MAN so the lights look AWESOME.
