HID Foglight DIY help please

Hey guys,

I spent today installing my new 3000K HID kit for my fogs, its all done and i had a few questions for those who have done it before.

After it was all done the driver side fog is much more yellow than the passenger side, they are both bright and yellow, but I am thinking it has something to do with the little reflecter thing in side there. is there an easy way to remove this? because it seemed like no matter how i bent it, it was still just in the way.

To those who have done an HID fog conversion any help would be appreciated! thanks!

I have searched and found nothing that answered my question

also, has anyone been able to bake apart the foglight housings like one would a headlight housing, this would make taking that reflector off easy

It's not very likely the removal of those will be a success. There's a good chance you'll damage the glass or reflective deposition during a baking process. But be careful not to use extreme temperature transitions with the glass! I don't think it's the reflector. is the discoloration obvious after 2 min of operation?

It seems that one of the following is probably the case:

the dimmer HID capsule has a different gas charge, these are made in huge quantity which is a sacrifice to quality. Carefully swap bulbs to verify below are null.

The HID Ballast for the dimmer capsule is not wired properly or otherwise damaged.

the dimmer HID Capsule is not fit properly and effective viewing angle is shifted.

Thanks for the reply. I am hoping that the last of the three is the case. It is not dimmer by any means, but just different color. both are yellow, just one is more white than yellow. I want them both to be as yellow as possible.

So I fixed the reflector problem, they are now removed, was much easier then i thought.

However, I did look at the bulbs and the one with the less yellow color is cloudy in the center bubble where the xenon gas is. I looked up on some HID forums and found that this should not be (the light with the full yellow color is not cloudy).

so I guess that means sending the bulbs back for new ones. :X

I love when they say Hella quality, I've had, used, and experimented with the real deal and the knockoff... there's no comparison. But I totally understand that for the price it's so tempting to go to the most financially attractive alternative. china. Good luck with the return, glad the reflectors were easily removed

Yeah, I almost figured I got off lucky! but for a 60 dollar HID kit, i cant complain too much if all i need to do is have them ship me a new bulb.
I will say the company (vvme) is pretty good with customer service thus far.

Here is a picture illustrating the problem
