Bummed, but bring on OU!
Intake: don't need one with a turbo
Exhaust / Midpipe : could probably go 3 inches with turbo
Turbo
Pulleys : pretty much worthless
18" Konig Incident
Carbon Fiber Hood : looks only, but you already covered that (maybe some cooling benefit with the right hood)
Tires
so:
Turbo
Exhaust/Midpipe
Wheels/Tires
Hood
As far as why people turbo their 8's...
Just because you're not going to be hanging with 500hp Z06's is no reason not to do it. It's still going to be much faster than without the turbo. Besides, the Greddy kit is up to 310whp with and Interceptor-X ecu and tuning, and the SFR kit has more potential than that. That's plenty of power for a 3000lb car, and will motivate it down the road rather well.
The 20B swap mentioned by others is going to be the only way (at the moment) to be hanging (acceleration-wise) with the high power cars you mentioned.

This thread has made me stupider by reading it.
Oh and if you want big power, don't go with the greddy kit. At the very least upgrade the turbo on it and go with standalone. The turbo that comes in the kit isn't meant for very good power, and that "310whp" greddy car is just peak power, it dies to **** near redline.
Why not just appreciate the car for what it is? A semi-fast ("quick") car that handles beautifully? If you start going for power only and worrying about how fast you are, it's going to ruin how the car was meant to be driven.

[QUOTE= So the rx8 really wasn't made to go fast? I just handles well?QUOTE]
The car handles like a dream; a dream on rails.
Let's just say the car goes plenty fast; plenty quickly...enough to:
1. Get you more tickets than you want.
2. Get you killed, or kill someone if driven like an ***.

and my friend has a GTO it is nice but I'd rather get the 8. And what is the point of turboing the 8 then if you can't even really get it that fast?

your not going to get as much as you think selling your mods.....trust me i did the same thing.....sold the mods off my last car and bought mods for the 8.....but i know where to put my money.....it was mostly for looks.....your not gonna get as much power out of an 8 as you want....i suggest an srt-4 and with the extra money invest in a nicer interior.....

therm8 thanks for all of that info.. very helpful.
I remember watching Top Gear and the host saying that the RX8 was one of hte best handling cars he had ever driven but it wasn't great in the water because it was very skiddish. And my Honda is about to come out of being under warranty bc I have ~94k miles on it. And I do realize I probably won't make much if any money off my mods but that isn't bothering me very much seeing as the car is still worth more then I bought it for 2 1/2 years ago.
And my parents still dont want me to have a car that is too fast that is why they took away my original RX8 they felt I wasn't ready to have then they sold it. I got a Lexus ES then that got broken into and that's when I got the Honda.

The only reason that the car was considered skittish in wet weather is because of the tires. It doesn't make sense to have a perfectly balanced car that handles like a dream and then acts crazy just because it's wet. Get new tires and don't worry about it.
Honestly, though, don't get an RX-8 if you are wanting to be fast or try to 'beat' other cars. It just won't happen unless you have the money or the know-how to tune your car properly.
Get it for what it is, no more, no less.

If you want to see how fast the car is you take it to the track not the street! beacuse at the track you get all of the car, because there is more to raceing then going down a strate street.
Dont Race in Dallas plz because i have family that lives there. Dont be dumb please. and i hope you go to jail for raceing cuz you can kill someone.
Sorry for being a *** but someone had to do it.
