Hesitation at low RPMs?
Hesitation at low RPMs?
Sorry of someone posted this before, but I wasn't able to find any other threads with this subject covered.
I was wondering if I am the only one experiencing this issue. When launching the car with a light effort on the gas pedal (which is not that often
) at low RPMs in first gear, I am finding a good amount of hesitation or rather a "dead spot" in the powerband. This tends to happen below 2000 RPMs from a dead stop. Once past that point, all seems to accelerate as I would expect, but this hesitation sometimes feels like the car might stall if I do not get on the gas a bit more.
All of the cars I have had in the past have all been manual transmissions, so it is not a case of me not being able to drive a stick properly. Just interested to know if I am the only one experiencing this, and if not, if anyone out there might be able to help me to understand exactly what is happening mechanically when this occurs.

I guess I was expecting too much when I thought I could get some info from a community forum like this. I would think at least one person would lend some helpful information, but I guess I should just rely on the dealer for such assistance.
Just would have been better to have some info before I went all the way there to claim an engine problem that I am not even sure IS an engine problem...
Oh well..... Just disappointed I guess, especially when I see what some people take the time to reply to here, such as to attack a guy for starting a ti gray appreciation thread, and things of that nature. When it comes to helping a guy out who has a valid concern (like myself), everyone seems to leave me high and dry.

Well. I guess I'll just have to respond now..
First off, this IS a community of people.. Owners and non-owners alike.. We are people, not your personal database. When you pose a question we are not REQUIRED to answer or acknowledge you..
Usually, people will and will give you good advice. You made your post at 4:47 AM Sunday.. No one was around then.. and If people are like me and click NEW posts then it will be a while before they get to it.
Thanks for attacking every member on the forum just because you didn't get the answer you want in the time frame you want it.. Incidentally, there is a search button.. and I'm certain someone has asked, and had this question answered in the past.

launching the car
below 2000 RPMs from a dead stop
Personally I'm not on the site on the weekends and am sometimes too busy to reply...no need to throw a fit (which I'm sure didn't encourage/motivate people to help out).
