Help!!!!! Engine smoking heavily
Hi
My 2004 230bhp has had trouble starting recently but last night i floored it to overtake an other car and there was a loss in power and a lot of smoke coming out of the exchaust, i reduced speed and continued as i was on the motorway.
When i got home i left it to cool down then tryed starting it again with the a lot of smoke again coming from the exhaust so turned the engine off.
Really worried about my pride and joy, any help would be much appreciated.

Do you see bubbles in the water reservoir when the car is idling? What colour was the smoke?
Is the engine rough?
You may have blown either a coolant or an oil seal...

Kicked her up this mourning and a lot of blue/white smoke came out but ok on idle, when i reved the engine it started kicking smoke out again.
There are no bubbles that i can see in the coolant, as for smoke smell hard to say really but it is nt dark as if it was burning oil?.
Engine sounds ok.
Any idea what the problem could be?

if it smells sweet it's coolant usually, bluish in clour might be the oil.

your oil control rings rubber or the metal ring itself is bad. The only way to fix it is take the engine apart and replace them.
You will burn more oil until the rubber completely gone, then you will not be ab!e to start it again cuz of massive leak inside.
