Help with Check engine light

Help with Check engine light

When i was racing an eclipse my check engine light decided to start flashing while i was still driving and the light stopped flashing if anyone could explain what happened that would be very helpful...

Get the code read at PepBoys etc.

....a flashing CEL is bad, probably a misfire on "cylinder #2"....

Were you using Premium gas or regular?

if you start losing the race it starts flashing, happens alot here


Actually it may be bad coils...

THAT right there is your problem. NO street racing, your car will thank you later. (and you'll get flamed less on this site)

If it blinked, it's almost certainly a misfire. Not too uncommon, just use premium gas, and make sure you service your car properly. (plugs, wires, etc)

Now be nice, anybody that's dumb enough to street race an Eclipse can't be expected to perform a SEARCH ...

Contrary with most here, street racing in an industrial area or quiet suburban road is very cool with me.

But yeah your flashing was most likely a misfire.
