ok, so recently the 8 has been throwing a "intake manifold throttle tuning controller" code according to the obd scanner. anybody have any idea what that's about or how to fix? Thanks in advance!!
Could you give us the exact code you received?
First thing I would do is clean the throttle valve.
You can open it with your finger and use something like carb cleaner and a rag to wipe the valve and housing.

definitely.. im at work right now, but i'll get the scanner out and post the exact code during lunch break tom or later tonight if i get a chance. iv talked to a few ppl about it already and they have no clue what its about.
ok i got the code. P2070. "intake manifold tuning valve stuck open. Propable cause: linkage stuck or broken, mechanical condition, intake manifold tuning valve". thats what my scanner read
P2070 = SSV stuck open.
Do an advanced search on P2070 or just see this thread by Jon316G.

If the valve is truly stuck, Seafoam will not release it.
Here is a thread to get you started:

ok i watched the video by jon 316 and read all the threads. is it possible to just pull it down with a screwdriver like suggested? im not sure im confident enough to pull it out to clean it
If you watched my "Troubleshoot Intake Valves" video you'll see me moving it with my finger... that is the same spot you can use with a screwdriver.
Or (like in the video) you can use a vacuum hand pump on the actuator to cycle the valve.
I HIGHLY recommend you verify the valve is truly stuck before taking it out.
Yes you can take a long screwdriver and cycle the valve.

so this morn i went and cranked her up and...no cel! idk if has something to do with the weather because where im at it fluctuates so bad this time of year. mon and tues the high was around 45, and today it was 74. idk haha, but no cel
Possible it just got stuck for a little while, but IMO that kinda means it will be back. I think I would at least give it a good look even if you decide not to attempt removal and cleaning.
oh yea def. i took a screw driver and cycled it up and down any way. i'll just have to wait and see what happens to be sure of anything
