So long story short im going 20b in my third gen rx-7 and i would love to put my street ported fully built 13b-rew in my 2004 rx8. How many members have done this? Any good write ups. I mainly want to know cost and how hard it will be. Thanks a lot

 

yes its been done and documented.

 

The cost depends on what you are going to do yourself. If you plan on doing every bit of work on your own or with a friend then you can cut the cost down, but if you re having a shop do it you are going to be paying a lot of money.

Why don't just put the 20B in your 8? And just do one swap instead of 2?
If you plan to put 20B in the FD, you'll need to customize the mount so it sits lower than the usual aftermarket kit. That way, u will be able to put the strut bar over it to help the chassie handling the 20B.

 

Maybe because he wants a 20B FD and a REW powered 8?

I'd want to do the exact same thing if i was in his shoes

Thx xexok for the links. And yeah I always wanted my fd to be 20b, all of my research is done for the fd and most of it will be done at Rotorsports racing. The idea for making my rx8 13b-rew is so my motor does not go to waste but depending how much money that swap will be it will take a while. Heck the 20b swap I put a 3 year time frame on it so I don't go broke doing it.
