Front Seats

I was wondering if anyone has looked into replacing the factory front seats in the RX-8. I love my RX-8, but I think if I am to keep it then I need to find a fix for the seats. It turns out that the plastic rotor shaped triangle is about the same height as my wife's head. Whenever she leans back or I accelerate hard, her head bangs into the plastic. So I'm wondering if anyone has replaced the seats or if anyone has found a way to cover up the plastic rotor. I've thought about stuffing a pillow through the hole but figured it would look stupid.

The Mazda seat covers hide that part of the seats. Changing the seats will cause an Air-bag light to flash FYI.

Boyer, that issue has come up before. Someone made a little traingular shaped pillow to fit the the rotary accent, may be less expensive than changing out the seats..

Thanks for the information. I looked at a picture of the seat covers and it looks like they still leave an opening. I think I really need some kind of fix that will make that section of the seat padded like the rest so that it soft. I guess I could find a way to sew something into the seat cover, but i'm hoping for an easier fix. Also are you aware if there is a way around the air bag light if the seat is replaced. I'm guessing there must be some sort of weight sensor in the seats that would probably restrict the air bags from operating if the sensor wasn't there.

The Seats have air bags in the sides. The system returns an error because it knows it's "missing" some of the bags, It's not a weight thing. It would not be hard to rig something to cover the rotor
