Fluid clutch reinforcement bracket

Just chiming in on my experience with the Fluid clutch reinforcement bracket (iirc made by mazsport)

My clutch bracket, was destroyed. Obliterated almost, but I didn't know this fully until I pulled the assembly out of my car. At the moment, I wasn't able to buy a whole new assembly. It's a good thing I didn't!

Though it was a huge PITA (every time I pushed on the threads to put the bracket back in the car, they'd get pushed back to the firewall) Which took hours, until my significant other held the piece moving from inside the engine bay.

However, the engine start sensor (for the clutch) Wasn't depressing fully, so I had to mod the trigger a little so it would engage enough to be able to turn the engine on. Otherwise, this bracket is almost a work of art. It's about a 1/4" thick, reinforces in all of the right places, and my car feels better then ever when shifting. I adjusted the pedal at the same time, and it's night and day. Sometimes I used to grind, have trouble getting it in gear, reverse especially. After this install everything's fixed. Best of all, NO more squeaking!

I had problems with the threads going back into the firewall also... other than that... perfection!

Yep, you definitely need to wedge something between the slave cylinder and the upper strut housing on the engine bay side of the firewall, or have an assistant.

The starter interlock switch is easily over compressed, but it may be pulled back out.

Other threads discuss all this btw. It's always good to research before you mod. Most likely someone has already faced all the trials and tribulations and has good suggestions.

Congrats on your proactive/preemptive effort!

My clutch pedal is fine and dandy, but this reinforcement bracket is definitely on my shopping list

My pedal has been squeaking for about 2 yrs now in my 05 lol. One day I'll break down and buy this reinforcement. Hopefully that day will come before it snaps.

I put it off for awhile too, because I knew it was going to be a pain working under the dash - and it was. But glad I finally got it done on my '05.
