Flooding-the latest excerpt
Recently had my first flooding at 17,000km and it would not start with multiple trys on advice from the manual. I called the Mazda roadside assistance program and the local service appeared with a fellow who had much experience with rotary engines and this particular problem.
He hooked me up to his booster truck and proceded to push the accelerator to the floor and turn the key. After approx. 15-20 mins and periodic waits of 2-3 minutes in between starts. It very slowly started to fire, more with each resumption and finally continuous. :D
Let it sit for approx. 20 minutes and took it for a run. No problems!!!!!!
We discussed push starts and he said it can be done but you never know what or if any damage is done to the exhaust system, since all the starts he has witnessed begin with a small explosion from the engine.
So the secret is don't try to run down your battery, and perservere with the process recommended, it may work, short of having it towed to the dealer and having them drain the chambers, put in new plugs, change the oil, and send you on your way a little lighter than you were.undefined
