Stronger - I guess

One less gear to deal with -- hmm ... I like 6 gears, each to their own?

better high"way" mpg --- Im getting 18-20 mpg with mobil (BP I get less, like 15, dunno why), so Im ok with it, not to mention, its going to cost a lot to swap, does it worth it ?

quicker 1/4 mile --- straight line acceleration is not my cup of tea.

Wait, with all of those pluses, why would Mazda use the tranny in the 8 now? Something doesn't add up

the only time ive heard of FD tranny swaps were along with 3 rotors.. or 13 bre swaps.... other than that im sure the 5-speed RX8 was only offered in JAPAN... it was supposedly called the "TYPE S"

Yes it's possible, there is a thread here of a guy that did it.

It will cost a lot of money unless you can fab stuff yourself

oh my god you're right! why would mazda put a bulletproof tranny in the mazda with no horsepower (miata) and a weak tranny in a car that has more horsepower. it just doesnt add up!

its a conspiracy!

lol that link would be my page....lol there is only a couple things you have to fab and it's all pretty easy really...it you have a welder and can use a tape then your in good shape. As far as having it I love the 5 speed over the 6. I'm actually using the non turbo with 14 psi of boost and all so far is good. For the most part everything is there...any questions feel free to ask https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-yourself-forum-73/diy-rx7-tranny-rx8-182557/
