Well, you can make the ports more rectangular for more area without changing the timing, but you mieght be surprised at how well they would work with a little timing change too.

That is just way cool. I have often wanted to by one. It would be cool to by 2 and do lots of machining etc and siamese them into as 2 rotor!

There are some model airlplane engines that have fuel injection, I'd like to do that to the engine as well. After doing all that I could build a model RX-8 or FD RX-7 with it! I'm just worried to do something wrong and break it. |

That's really cool... tho I'd be hesitant to do much porting on my own without really being sure port timing's not going to be affected. If you get it wrong, you've got a junk housing.

There is so little space to work with that I personally wouldn't port it. Maybe I would , I don't know. I am pretty crazy! My gut instinct says no though. I'd probably try to build a better intake and exhaust out of small stainless tubing first.

what plane do you have that in...i sold my OS wankel cause the torque sucked and couldn't turn a big prop...and I don't fly the "little" planes anymore...i've "graduated" to 1/4 scale but still like to fly my Bridi Kaos pattern plane with it's Saito 120...no R/C engine beats a 4 stroke Saito...nothing!!

Screw doing a 2 rotor, go all out and make a 4-rotor, the thing would make like 10 hp! Or just go straight out of control and make a 5 rotor, don't think that's ever been done.

These engines are hard to find used and can cost over $350 new a piece. For a 4 or 5-rotor I'd need 2 or 3 more, or close to $1000. I can buy a normal sized Mazda 13B for that! Good idea, but not very cost effective ;) |
Yeah, but making an e-shaft for a real 13b is going to cost more than the engine itself. And like I said, it's never been done. I'd do it, but I have no fabrication skills.
