Engine washing

Engine washing
I just have this question in regards to engine washing since I've never done it on this car:
With all my other, "ordinary" cars, I wash their engines with machine-preassurized water while the engine is running and immediately then blow air inside the engine in order to dry fast.
Can I do the same with rx-8 or will I have undesired effects?

I've sprayed my engine out with a regular garden hose. It worked fine, no flooding or anything. It was more dustly than anything, so I didnt use any type of chemical to actually wash it. Just straight water.

When I use to detail cars, I would just make sure that I never really sprayed directly onto any electrical connections and the sparkd plugs. If I did have to spay in on of those general areas, I would make sure to just run the pressure washer over it quickly. I don't think you should have a problem if you do it that way... I never have.
