Exclamation Engine Under Cover.

Anyone parting out that is getting rid of this piece?

Moved out of the garage to find it was somehow destroyed. Don't even know how that could happen with no damage to the front bumper.

Thanks in advance!

Who makes the metal one? Speed bumps and my R3 don't mix. Mine's thrashed, an aluminum one sounds like a good plan to me. Thanks.

I pulled to close to a curb once and busted the four screws off and then the wind from driving home split it in half. bought one from the mazda dealer for $175 had them install it. pretty expensive! an aluminum one would be awesome.

I have broken 2 of these and bought them at the dealer for around $200 each. The metal one available is the GTSpec. It is almost twice as much. I believe RaceRoots sells them.

I'm considering getting a sheet of aluminum and making one myself.

I have a friend with a 8 who had the GT one and he said if he has to take his off when he converts his fogs to hids he is gonna make me a template of the bottom part. He said he is sure there are parts on the factory plastic on that are not needed and could be trimmed off so the metal one wouldn't have to be as big. I'll keep you guys posted.

I wouldn't use any alumimum ones.

It sounds like a deal but the problem is, if something hits it, instead of breaking the tray, it might break the head of the bolts off, and it's a Royal PITA get it back out.

I replaced my tray I think 4 yrs ago, has a crack on the side cuz I ran over a piece of tire, it's still holding. Bought a new piece from Mazda as backup. less than 200 bux shipped. not too bad I guess, if I didn't run that tire over I probably can keep it for another couple of years.

I make my own hole to use zip ties with a Phillips screwdriver, that plastic is so cheap, takes no effort.

A big hole where? Except for the coils, intake and alt, there is really nothing to fear about a little water.
