Engine stays on when key is removed

Hey Guys,

I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone, but it has happened to me two times today. I drive my RX-8 as usual and when I park it and take my key out of the ignition switch, the engine stays on. At first, I thought the ECU was trying to cool the engine down before turning it off (kinda like a turbo timer), but it stayed on for 10 mins. So I stick the key back in and turn it to "ON" and the engine finally turned off. Has anyone ever experienced this? Or does someone know what's going on? Should I bring it back to the dealer and have them look at it? Also, does anyone happen to know what month/year they started putting "m flash" on the RX-8 from the factory, or do I have to go back and have the flash it regardless? Sorry for all the questions. I feel like I'm in over my head here. Thanks in advance,

David

Hehe, I tried searching under "engine staying on" and other keywords like that, but I got too many results. So are you guys saying it will turn off eventually?

it always does. the cooling fan is suppost to remain on after shutdown during certian tempurature parameters. and "engine" isn't specific enough as a search criteria, the more specific you can be the better.
