Reinstall went a lot smoother and took about 6 hrs
if it's a manual just pull start it if you flooded it.

usually you can get away with a couple of cold restarts but if you press your luck with 3 or more then flooding isn't such a hard thing to do.

Hey, sorry for the thread revival.

I'm currently in the process of doing the top removal with the crane via the guide on the forums. First time ever using an engine crane and was actually curious about where to safely wrap the chains. All the photos I've seen don't really give a clear view of the mounting points. Anyone got any advice for me? Instructions or pictures would be greatly appreciated!

There's 2 lifting eyes one behind and below the upper I take manifold. And one right next to the alternator.

I find it easier to strip the top end of the engine while In the car.

I would still rather have a lift and necessary equipment to drop it out the bottom, but it can come out the top together up high on jackstands

Hey Team, did you take off the uim and the header or anything else off when you took it out the top?
