engine problems
hey guys! so saturday morning i went out to start my car, it was all packed up ready for a weekend away snowboarding, temp was about 0 degrees celcius. so i crank the car and nothing happens just ticks over but doesnt fire, so i try it again and same thing then a 3rd time and still nothing!
so then when i go to do it about 20mins later theres no crank all that happens is that all the gauges needles surge to their full travel and back again and there is a loud whining noise from the engine, also when u first turn on the ignition to position 1 the dsc off light is flashing which i never noticed before!
so could this be a flooded engine problem or do you think its something else? its a 2004 model with 76000 miles on the clock, had it 4months and no trouble till now! also how hard is it to deflood the engine or should i go to a dealer?

flooded. you could charge your battery up, and try the deflood procedure in the manual- hold gas pedal to the floor, then crank. worth a shot. check the diy for other deflood options.
he saids 0 celeius, thats 32f, thats *freezing* cold, thats gonna kill the stock old battery(if not updated)
best way to tell is to find another car and jump start it. if it cranks and works, then its your battery, if it doesnt, wait till the weather gets better then try to de-flood it.
but I have a feeling you just need a battery, so just get a battery, get one of those optima red top or yellow top battery, I think Size 35. Its expensive I know, but you get what you pay for, trust me. Its worth the price.
