Sorry to ressurect another really old thread!

Is this type of contact cleaner basically what I am looking for? - Home Hardware - 150g Electronical Contact Cleaner

How long is sufficient for air dry time? Until visibly dry?

Also, does cleaning the MAF trigger CEL everytime? Anything warranty wise to avoid?

Yea you can use that, just let it sit for 5 minutes or so.
It shouldn't trigger a cel but help alleviate one that is up, if in fact that was the issue.

I am getting this code and it shows up on long drives and disappears when I drive around in the city. What exactly is this code telling me? Rotorsport basically said my engine is on its way out.

@CarAndDriver

Rotorsport told me the same thing, were you able to find a resolution to this?

Hey guys,

So I followed the DIY, went easy enough... Replaced the cable properly and now the car won't start :/

I'm worried repeated failed starts will lead to a flood....

The car ran nicely before, and the plugs coils battery and cables were recently done...

Any advice?

Would be worth asking as well, could you run the engine without the MAF plugged in?

MAF...After searching several posts I just wanted to comment about MAF cleaning on my 2007 RX8.After spraying with crc maf cleaner-bulb,wires and maf everything looked clean.I reassembled everything and drove it immediately noticing a performance improvement with general smoothness.Better responce and idling etc.After thinking about it i took out the maf again and sprayed more cleaner and GENTLY rubbed a cotton Q -tip up and down both wires attatched to to bulb and ALOT of crud came off! I also cleaned inside where the actual maf is and more crud came off.You must do this gently as not to break a wire! I reassembled and drove it like i stole it and noticed even more performance improvement than prior!I have a REVI intake that runs through a K&N in the stock gutted air box,thats it.The car has a nice Borla exhaust with the original cat.I think oil from the K&N may occasionally coat the sensor and hinder its function so now i will clean the MAF periodically.Note : watch the two screws holding it on and dont OVERTIGHTEN,ENJOY!
