When I went to start my car over the weekend it started really rough, like it didn't want to run. Then the engine light blinked and stayed on. I immediately turned it off then started it again after which it ran fine after a couple of revs. I decided to take it out. It ran fine and after a couple of restarts during the day the engine light went out. It happened again Sunday morning, rough idle then after a few revs it's ok. Anyone have any experience with this?

took it in this morning. They called back and said I was getting multiple codes, 1 being for the cat and that I needed a tune-up, new plugs, cleaned injectors etc. They told me $2000 for the cat alone. That's crazy I told them. They then made me an offer of one of the techs who just happened to replace his 8s exhaust with an aftermarket exhaust. They offered $500 (cash on the side) for his used oem exhaust including his cat. This sounded like it could be a little fishy so I said just do the tune-up and if the cat is really bad the engine light will come back on upon which I would be interested in the offer a week from now when I get paid. Does that sound fishy to you?
