Engine Coolant System

Hi everybody, Do you know where this tube is connect too? My coolant fluid spell all over the area. See picture.

I did a dynose today. And it tell me my Coolant Tempature Sensor is causing my car to missfire. I have no power gain when i drive my car. I push the gas padel and it drive like a slow civic.

Please help. Do I need to change my Coolant Tempature Sensor? Where is the tube connect too?

P.S. Sorry for my Grammer on this post.

that tube goes no where, its just an overflow drain. it just points straight down where you see and just out of sight it ends... it drains in a less than ideal place. you can extend it to drain somewhere more preferable.

a DYNO or DIAGNOSIS? i'm pretty certain that sensor cant cause the car to misfire.... the temps itself may be able too though.....

how hot does you coolant get? does you temp gauge in the car move? more detail needed about when/how/why its apparently overheating. then there can be better guesses as to your power loss...

Coolant temp sensor is NOT the cause of your misfire. (if u had a misfire b4)

Like Paulmasoner said, however, coolant TEMP itself could tho. because when ur coolant is hotter than usual, that means ur engine is running too hot.

I use my friend Snap-On Diagnosis Tool it shows that the Coolant Temperature Sensor is malfunctioning. The car doesn't overheat. So what can be the problem.

which code is it do you know? just wanted to be sure.

if its the water temp sensor (coolant), its located behind the thermostat housing. its "fairly" hard to reach. Even if its functional, it will move to around 1/2 way on the temp bar and stop there until its over 230f, Which is about 110 Celsius. which is kinda hot already.

but Im telling you, the sensor itself is NOT the cause of your misfire. most likely either ur coils, plug wires, plugs, or you simply overheating and u just dont know it (cuz water temp sensor malfunction)

found it, took this pic when I was replacing my thermostat last week.

this is what the thermostat housing looks like, is located RIGHT BEHIND the battery box.

if your coolant boiled over and spilled out of the overflow hose you show in the pic.... then it is very likely that you have overheated the car..
