Engine Braking

So, I did some searching and didn't come up with much. Does anyone know how the rotary responds to engine braking? Is it particularly bad for the rotary compared to a standard motor? Or, the same - I find, especially when practicing heel toe shifting, if I don't match just right, I am sometimes doing some engine braking and I don't want to be wearing out the motor by doing so but again - wasn't sure how the rotary responded...

no problems doing it, in fact when you engine brake, the engine doesn't inject any fuel, so you save on gas compared to coasting.

In fact, you wear out less things on a rotary than on a otto cycle.
You may experience less engine brake than on bigger engines, that's because of the leverages but you can actually trail brake as well with a rotary so...

When I first started engine braking I never stopped. It feels right. When my dad took me out to ride motorcycles through the parkway in NC I was engine braking the motorcycle the whole time and barely touched the brakes.... when I got the 8 it was business as usual just smoother like everything else with this car.

How do you guys use brake in past tense when you are referring to stopping a car?

Is it braked or broke?
