Red face engine bogging and check engine light

Ok i have on 1900 miles on my Rx8 so far and ive taken it to the dealer for a check engine light twice already but with those i did not feel any actuall problems while driving. But however this time whenever i hit 5k rpms my engine bogs down and i lose 95% of my acceleration even if i downshift. I have an appointment at the dealer weds. but any input on what this could be would be greatly appreciated. Im sorry if this is a repost but i am at work which limits my time online.

Thanks

Seems like the problem I'm having. My dealer said I need new Ignition coils, wires and spark plugs. What did they tell you was wrong with it?

It is too early to bee having a cat or coil problems... but I did just recently have that same issue and it turned out to bee the coil packs..... That's all I had replaced and the car runs good as new again. Of course, they'll try and talk you into replacing the plugs and wires too....more moola for the pocket.

Now, as mentioned above there is that possibility of employee error and may have caused some damage to the plugs and such...but who knows.. You can always start with just the coils and see how it goes and so on and so forth...

GL..
