but the thing is that, both my fan works and never had a blown fuse.
Now Im thinking is the Koyo Radiator the cause. I used to have Racing beat flash which lowered the Fan on Temp by like 10 Celsius. but ever since MSP16 ... my flash is gone. Water Goes up to 105 Celsius just today. I cant imagine what will happen Later this summer. Hmm ..... I have 2 options, Go back to Stock, BHR or Mazmart. Stock is not possible, cuz I broke mine when I tried to remove it. new one gonna cost 300 something. Not worth it. BHR and Mazmart both sounds promising to me. Both price about the same. Its kinda hard to decide ... So what I did was I toss a coin. Head goes to BHR, Tail goes to Mazmart and ... |
I had read that the Koyo radiator was not worth it..
Did your coin not drop on a face?! :) I will see the outcome tomorrow.. I hope Wayne has these fans in stock and can do it then and there. I also hope that is all that is wrong. While I'm there I'll have some other TSB's taken care of and possibly try to get some seafoam action.. :) |
you don't wanna tell me the score of the game???
|
omg, i told you it was tied!!
|
tied??
|
tied, 1-1 is final score

For the coin thing, hmm, I pmed the winner already. hoho ~ |
4 hours later I have a new fan assembly in there. Yumm. I really need to get around to doing that coolant flush now since its still disproportionately water from the first time it overheated on me.
Dealer also ordered both headlights due to haze. No questions asked. But I forgot to bring up my broken glovebox.. grrr! How awesome are these guys at Wayne. :) |

One of my headlights are fogging up too. :( maybe I should bring it in ? when will u go back there for the headlights ? |
you could have also fried your thermostat. They are a heat sensitive instrument that if superheated may not work to its spec. If it's spec it to open at 90c (or whatever) and you heated it to 260c it may have warped or cracked. Hopefully that is all that is wrong. T-stats are like $20 and take about 20 min to install. Make sure you flush the system afterwards, fill and bleed it, as well as adding something like WatterWetter (I swear by the stuff). My rx8 and srt4 both sit at 180f even after LONG trips or hard driving. During the summer I run distilled water and the wetter and almost NEVER get above 180f even with the ac on driving in heavy traffic.

wow, they actually have the fan assembly in stock? thats pretty impressive. Consider those are not the *usual* stuff to fix.

I didn't even think he remembered about it because I mentioned it way early in the morning and he said he would look at it. Then he comes out and says he went ahead and ordered both headlights. No questions asked. Under warranty. He = Gary (service advisor).

As for the temperature since then I have maxed out at about 210f in stop and go. That is probably due to the coolant mix, need someone to give me pointers on how I should go about draining (only radiator or entire engine?) and what mix to go with.. lots of info. |

It's not really fog, it's like a haze thing. Looks like the plastic is bad.

Don't know if you read the last few posts or not but I found my problem: jammed radiator fan and it was replaced this morning by the dealer. :) As for the temperature since then I have maxed out at about 210f in stop and go. hmm, I will give them a call tomorrow and ask them about the headlights and coolant bottle then.
I keep mine at about 50/50 for now cuz I dont have the time to play with the mixture. but we can use about 40/60 (coolant/water) without any problems. |
I've tried both method. but the last 2 times I just did the Radiator Flush, cuz Im LAZY :P
When I get my new Radiator, I will do the complete flush. Is not hard to get the mixture correct, its pretty simple math :) Just buy a gallon of 100% coolant, and 2 gallon of Distilled water (I found some in Pathmark for like 99 cents each) if u just do Radiator drain, it probably take a bit less than 2 gallons of coolant, so after u drain ur coolant, just pour about 3/4 gallon of coolant into the rad first, if u have water wetter add it in after the coolant, then pour the whole gallon of distilled water into the tank. It "should" be about right. Save the other gallon of distilled water and the last 1/4 gallon of coolant to top it off. if u want more freezing protection, u can use a syringe to suck some liquid out from the bottle and put more coolant into it, or put water if u want more cooling for the summer. I can come and do it for u if u have the tools around (like a jack and 2 jack stand, and a normal size phillip screwdriver) , I can bring them over if u dont have them. u dont need to pay me :P (but u must have ur own coolant ... and water ... LOL !) Hmm, hell if u want we can actually do the more complete flush, just buy a couple more gallons of distilled water, take everything out and start pouring it from the upper thermostat ... maybe I should do that when my new radiator comes :) (Its time to ebay my soon to be OUT Koyo Radiator .. lol !) |

how much water wetter am I adding?
when u do it, make sure u peel all the protective seal out, cuz one time I left some of them on, when I pour it, it came off and almost felt into the bottle, lucky it was stuck at the top and took it out when a clip ... phew.

You reckon I could find some WaterWetter at Pep Boys? Need something local, don't want to deal with getting it shipped atm.
al Autozone just start selling it for 9.99 each. I think pepboys is like a buck cheaper. dont really remember. I got some of mine at like 7.50 online, but I ordered it with a bunch of stuff so it was like about 8 bux each. |

I think My Cooling Fan #2 is running slower than it should, when its turning I can see the blur, and when I turn it with my hand, it feels kinda hard, just not as smooth as the Fan #1.maybe I should get a multimeter to test it.
when you were at Wayne Mazda, did you just tell them that "oh, my fan is broken" or what ? |
