Dyno Results

Hey I got 163.77 RWP in 3rd gear at 7,200 RPM before the DSC kicked in.

Is that any good? The temp was high at 78.26F, 34% Humidity M flash

They never got over 7,200RPM before the ECU kicked in to shut down the car from the front wheels not moving.

That's exactly what mine got last year when it was bone stock on a Dyno Dynamics. For me, 163whp was the peak at about 7500 stock. I don't have DSC or TCS so they weren't a factor for me. The dash still lights up like a christmas tree though. A couple of months ago I ran it again with a test pipe and resonator and a Canzoomer stage 2. I got 171 at about 9000. I seemed to have picked up about 5 whp in the mid range with the biggest gain coming over 7500rpm where the stock dyno run dipped a few points, went flat, and then curved down over 8500. 171whp at 9000rpm was about 19whp over stock at the same rpm. With my most noticable gain being right at redline I've got to say I was quite disapointed. I hope to bring out more from 6k-8k with further tuning and maybe an intake.

Razz1, why would you dyno with DSC on anyway? I have done all of my testing under the following conditions: 1. Tires set to 32psi
2. DSC and traction turned off
3. Pulls perfomed in 5th gear
4. Hood open
5. Dual fans 3 feet back from grill opening

No problems with ECU at all and runs have been repeatable with the 3rd always being the strongest and the 4th dropping off slightly presumably due to heat soak. I know there is a ton of argument over which gear to test in but this is the way I conduct testing on my car for consistency.
I don't know how your number stacks up to a 5th gear run but it would most likely have been higher had the trac not come in to play. At our dyno session a few weeks ago 7 cars on varying flash levels were tested and results varied from mid 160's to over 200 and we did see the power drop over 7k on a few. Some of those guys have had reflashes, plugs and batteries since then and said the power has come back but none have redynoed to confirm as of yet. I hope this was helpful.

Well obviuosly the shop is not familiar with the 8.

I told them they needed to disconnect the rear sensors or at least remove the fuse for the DSC.

What do you expect for $50

Looks like I'll I have to find a different shop for the DYNO.

Anyhow I heard a GTECH is your best bet concernning the problem with the front two wheels not spinning.

Why aren't you just doing the long press of the DSC OFF button?

That would diasable the TCS and DSC.
