DSC off...

anyone done some hard driving with DSC off yet?

doesn't the car feels much more willing to rev?

also, althought the car handles beautifully with DSC on, you have to try it off.

Took the back road home today thru Muholland drive, the car for some reason is much more responsive with DSC off.

i need someone to confirm my feelings. pls do it safely tho.

otherwise, it's probably me driving 8/10 with dsc off instead of normal crusing of say 7/10. and the mind became more alert causing the misconception

thanks

On a similar note - this car will NOT do a 180 without using the handbrake! I had thought it was the DSC preventing it, but I tried again last night with DSC off. The tires stuck too good, and just rolled right around the U-turn.

It will do a 180 with the DSC off. Make sure it is completely off. (press and hold 5 seconds)

Is that in the owner's manual? Or a guess?
I heard from somebody else that this is just a guess based on the pre-production mules testes by mags.

Actually if you just press the DCS button you'll see the DCS indicator on the annunciator panel, but if you hold it you'll also see the traction indicator light up.

Hand brake not needed. Lucky enough to observe firsthand last night in a friends car.

Another fun one to try is the emergency get away from the bad-guys reverse, tap break and jerk the wheel, shift to first and jet out of there move.

Yup, I've also pulled a 180. Going ~35 in 2nd, and flipped a bitch HARD. It actually started going past 180, but I let up on the gas and turned the wheels back to the right. Stuck back on track equally HARD.

Good car, I'm going to have to learn what the heck I'm doing some day.

I used to drive a first gen with the 12A rotary. Once the car did a 360 to the left and when trying to correct it I ended up doing a 360 to the right. Al of this while doing 60mph in the highway and it was raining. It happened when I changed lanes to the left... It's a miracle nothing happened and the car stopped in the median. I bought a new set of tires the next day.

Okay, I was being a little conservative, using 1st gear. Also wasn't sure how much speed I'd bleed off, so chose 1st gear for that reason. Next time will try 2nd gear.
