SK drivers door wont open

Help my drivers side door wont open. It sounds like its unlocking, the door will not open. The latch is not moving inside the car either manually nor from the keyless entry. Help

Trying using this little puppy, see if it doesnt do the trick.

But being serious now, can you open the Passenger door and open the driver door through the inside? Are you still under warranty?

If you hear the 'locking' and 'unlocking', it's not the actuator. If the door still won't open after pulling the inside and outside door handles, it could be a broken spring in the lock or the rod that connects to the door handle came came loose.

Follow this thread, as well: Driver Door Will Not Open!!!!

Broken spring:

Nichelle, Grace_Excel is currently helping me get my door open through the forum. I'm almost there. I have the day off today (Thur) and hopefully I'm on the final leg to getting it open.

Use Grace_Excel's pictures and directions once you get the door panel PARTIALLY removed (you won't be able to completely remove the door panel with the door unable to open).

But first you have to pull the door panel partially out. To do that you'll need the following pics and diagrams:

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...+panel+removal

Good luck. Get back to us if you have any obstacles along the way.

I'm in southern California and so is Grace_Excel, so if it comes to that, I'd just drive over to his area! Maybe Nichelle is in your area.

Anyway, I couldn't do airfare and hotel. The best I could do is craft beers from the famous San Diego microbrewery, AleSmith.

basically we took apart the rear door handle, popped the lock but it didnt allow the front to open

but it did allow for more room to pull the door open further so we could get the panels off the front door, took the window and regulator out so we could have full access to the accuator, messed with that for about an hour ... were about to give up, i turned around pulled the handle and BAM it opened

Oh hell, you're in San Diego? I'm off work until next week. If you still haven't managed to open it, try to make a trip half-way i.e. Aliso Viejo or Irvine (I think there's an RX-8 meet at a local Irvine IN-N-Out close to I-5) and I'll help.

Nah, I'm in LA, close to Pasadena area. I just mentioned AleSmith because almost all of their ales are extremely highly rated. For example, their stout, which is called Speedway Stout, is the highest rated stout in the world according to beeradvocate.com, ratebeer.com, and beerpal.com.

Well, Sherman Oaks is in LA as well... Glad you were able to open your door already. Fairly quick and simple, but it's a pain in the *** to get to.

I have the same problem

Hi. I have the same problem. My drivers side front won’t open. If you pop the suicide door open, remove actuator and rods from the door there is a white plastic piece that one of the rods were connected to. Pop the suicide open and press the white piece down and the door will open if you push from the inside.

now I need a new drivers side door because me and the lock and key guy ruined it. They have a what looks like 05 rx8 or newer at a junk yard down the street with the door intact. Is this a good swap? What about the electrical? It looks like I can unbolt the door. What about my key? It won’t open the junk rx8 door.

please help. Thanks.

chad.

Can you swap the lock and electronics from your door into the new one? How did you ruin it anyway?
You will need the new door's lock motor, that's usually what is responsible for the door not opening.
