Door hold-open detents

Ok, I've about had it with my doors swinging shut on me. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could improve the door hold-open detents, so that the doors actually STAY open unless I want them closed? Thanks...

Omicron,

No ideas here. Just the same frustrations! Hope you find something.

If it helps, my new RX-8's doors stay open much better than my first one. I don't know if a change was made or just a tolerance issue is the cause.

Maybe I'll talk to my dealership about it. Hmmm.

I fid that it stays open really well. The issue is getting it open enough to get to the first detent.
I have to practically throw it open with gusto to get it out to the first click.

Lol, durring the first month of ownership, my left shin was all banged up. My friends would ask what was wrong and I would just say that I had shin splints from playing ball. I wasn't about to tell them my car was beating me down

Yeah, the door is always banging me up. It sucks, in tight spots I can't open it fully to get out, and if it's anywhere between detents it springs back...and hard. OWW!

Ok, seems to be a common problem. So besides asking our dealerships (which I doubt will be much help, as I think the car is performing "as designed"), how do we go about addressing this? Anyone have any ideas?
