Do 2009 tails fit older models?

I have a broken tail light and was wondering if the 09s fit older models either by direct bolt on or with modification such as drilling.

I'm wondering this too. Just for the appearance value. Been searching about it but haven't found a definite answer yet. They probably bolt in but may have some wiring differences. Anyone know?

this has been asked 1000 times. yes they fit. but they will not sit flush. they will stick out too far because the rear bumper was redesigned for 09.

Goodwill.

What kind of lame question is that? Of course the dealer or someone who sells Mazda parts or an owner getting rid of them.

looks like some gental minipulation of the sheet metal would solve it. This is definatly a closer fit than i expected it to be. Has anyone tried to make them fit flush yet?
