DIY request: pulley help!
DIY request: pulley help!
i just got a set of power pulleys and i cant figure out how to get the alternator pulley to stop turning so that i can take the nut off and i dont want to break anything...anyone know how?
gotta revive this thread, but what are the size of the bolts on the waterpump pulley, the nut on the alternator pulley, and the crank pully? i bought the unorthodox pulley set and i am gonna need to know this. thanks
Also, go to the unorthodoxracing.com website and you can download the instructions.......jus go through the motions and find out what part you have, which should be the UltraSS. The instruction may be written for the RX-7, but they are the same.
Get the set that runs from about 10mm to 21 or 22mm and you'll be covered for the pullies. I honestly can't remember if I used the one that came with the impact wrench for the alternator or whether I had to go buy a 24mm for that.
You want me to go check all of them for sure right now?
Don't be surprised if you can't find the 24mm without buying the bigger set. I chose not to and went to Autozone and just got that one as I had three other metric sets.
Oh....and read that DYI carefully. When you do pull off the crank pully, there is a plate that may try to come off with it. Either don't let it come off or make real sure you know the position of that plate. It's keyed, but it's much better if you just not let it move from the position it's in. If it does come off, make damn sure it's back on correctly.
