differences between 04-08 starters and 06-08 etc..

What are the differences between 04-08 or 06-08 starters and so on? why are some of them expensive like 300 bucks and some of them are 150 bucks? im talking about starters with 2.0kw..im buying this starter or this
one one
or this
one one
and i was wondering since it is cheap, do you think i am going to have problems with it once i replace it with my old one?

2.0 KW is all well and good, but if you have a weak Battery you will still have a weak Starter.

Anyway...basically original S1 RX-8's had an 11 tooth 'small' Starter Gear.
Later from 2006-2008 MY had a 13 tooth 'larger' Starter Gear.
From 2009 MY or Series 2 (S2) has a 14 tooth 'largest' Starter Gear.

The larger the Starter Gear the faster the Ring Gear on Fly Wheel turns, = faster starting/firing.

The 2009 is the best combination, even if only 1.8 KW.
The 13 tooth is fine really.

You cant really beat a strong good quality Battery, then Starter...not the other way around.

As far as price goes, well some may have a Reman or core deposit (you return old unit for $$'s).

The higher KW (2.0) Starter in theory should cost more.

thank you for your response..yeah im aware of having a weak battery..since the s1 rx8s starters have 11 teeth do u think a 09 starter will fit on a 04 rx8 knowing the fact that it has 14 teeth?
