Hi I've gone 600 miles in my 8 and I decided to do my first oil change. Unfortunately I forgot to get the oil filter wrench and all the auto parts stores in the area didn't have the "F" type in stock.

I went ahead and left the original oil filter on the motor. All I did was drain the oil and fill it up with 4 fresh quarts.

How bad is this? Do you think I've screwed anything up?

I plan on changing the oil again at 1500 miles. This time WITH the oil filter.

 

I wouldn't worry about it. The only time it would screw anything up is if the filter was no longer doing its job. At 600 miles your safe.
