so i left my car at discount tire to get 2new tires, and when i got it back it had no battery. so they jump started it, and the traction control, hand break, and check engine light was on. so i let it idle for a while because the idle was very rough. and i start to drive and my car had nooo power... so i turned off my car, and the lights turned off but the check engine light stayed on ( i had no lights displaying before dropping off my car). so i drove for maybe 2miles, the light didn't go away so i parked.. and smoke was flying out of the engine bay. i turned off my car and i opened the hood, smoke was coming from the dipstick area. i turned it off.. i called a toe truck to pick it up and they took it to a dealer, when the took it off the toe-truck.. they reved it to move it, and smoke was coming out of the exhaust.. what could be wrong?!?!?! im freakin out, they told me today that they had 7codes showing, and the catylitical converter was broken cuz of damage that i put...but everything was fine before all of this, and discount tire couldn't move my car cuz they had no rims, or tires to move it. also, i htink they might be lieing to me bout the cat, i have to look at it myself, because they said the damage is causing the cat. to clogg and overheat. IS MY BABY IN SERIOUS TROUBLE? OR IS IT MINOR? any help would be appreciated THANX!!

How did the battery die is the first question I would ask Discount Tire.
If it is just problems with the cat then it won't be expensive. Shouldn't cost a thing though. Any way the tire shop crushed the cat on the lift ?

It doesn't suprise me to see the TCS/DSC light flash when the battery is replaced/jumped.

The Cel will set for a low voltage issue also..

Smoke is not a good thing.

the battery on my car dies after a few days of no use because i have an audio system..i believed they messed up w/ wiring some how.. and i dont believe they crushed the cat because it was on a jack not a lift

My Cat went bad about a month into owning the car and was replaced for free. It wasn't smoking or anything though. I agree the tire place damaged it on the lift most likely.

It was not placed on a lift.....they only raised it on one side w/ a jack

no just took 2 wheels off sent 2 rims to be refinished, and then replaced 2 tires when wheels got back in

Ohhh f*8 that, I would of drove back to Discount Tire and told them to fix that sh** right now and made a case about it. You just drove too much man, now they will blame it on you!
Not surprising though my friends complain about them leaving scratches on rims when changing tires out!

Once you saw how messed up your car was I would of got the car towed back to them and tell them to fix what ever they did to it and not leave. Hope your car gets better though.

its because my car shows tonz of lights after the battery dies.. so i thought it was normal since the battery had died....i dont know man im freaking out to see what is gonna happen..hope i didn't blow the engine..do u guys think i did?

GREAT I'm not the only one who has been screwed over by Discount Tire About a two years ago back when I had my LT1 T/A I took it to Discount for a set of tires "the new BFG G-Forces" now my T/A was pushing close to 400hp at the wheels with out adding the extra 150HP shot of NOS on top off that, so if you had no idea of what you were doing you could break something pretty easily. any way a few hours later I recieve a call from Discount telling me car that my car has broke down in one of there bays . Once I arrived I hopped in my car and it started rite up, so asked the tech what the problem was? He replied " uuh well uhh it won't move" so I put it in gear and sure nuff it roll about a foot then BAM!!! the wheels would lock up, **** well at least they got all four of my new tires on I thought to my self. I had thought that maybe the new trany I had just install had some how screwed up so on the flat bed it went. I did not suspect any thing funny had went on tell I started to work on it the next day, I had jacked it up and begain runing it threw the gears, it had no problem shifting into any gear but the wheels would only turn about one rotation them BAM!!! WTF so I had made up my mind to remove the rear diff. cover to see if that was the problem. I nerly **** on my self when I saw what the problem was , about 6 of the teeth on my ring rear were sheard smooth off no way on earth I could driven it there like this and teeth on ring gears don't just fall off and to top it off who ever had there little fun for got to close my nitrous bottle!!! I won't get into any details as to what happend after that but I promise you, that Discount Tire store will remember me for years to come :D :D :D ..........Sorry they got to you to, it's those damn high school kids they have working there, they see a nice car and can't help them selfs but to screw it up then act like cry babies when they are made to fix what they broke .

Why did they have your car for four days? And it was up on a jack for all 4 days?

You also mention something about your sound system running the battery down after a few days - is a few, two, three or four days?

was your car in a secure area while on the jack for 4 days?
