CA Dead engine

I've searched for the answer to this guestion to no avail. May be I'm not wording it right in the search forums. What it a safe amount of time for the engines to sit without being started? My car has been sitting dead since September of '10. It needs new spark plugs, spark plug wires, and ignition coils. Now that I have the $$$ the car will be fix in a few weeks.

Thanks for any help.....

it will be fine. unless you have a coolant seal leak inside or your area is really humid that even walls have water on them (I've been to such places)

Why would a coolant seal leak or humid air hurt his engine?

Hope if you had fuel in it that you used some stabilizer............but you'll probably be okay.
I'm sure the battery will most likely need a good charge.

I store my car every winter...
so five of six months.
Search the winter storage threads.

I use fuel stabilizer and a battery tender

Thanks. The engine was replaced under warranty by Mazda back in June of '09. The old engine had 89,965 miles on it. I replaced the spark plugs back in December of '07 at 70,861 miles. The dealership just swapped the old plugs from the old engine onto the new engine!!! Yes battery is dead and irronically the car started missfiring a few minutes after I put a full tank of gas in it. Again thanks........I can sleep better now.......

Ummm.....asking a question on a forum isn't trying to do my homework? Funny, I thought that was the point of this site. Silly me!

Seriously how could coolant inside an engine destroy it? That doesn't make any sense to me. Vapor-lock? That would be the only thing I could think of what you're referring to. But, that seems very unlikely.

Rust. Not so much a coolant leak (which is bad unto itself) but high humidity. It's an issue for any engine. That's why one practice when storing a car (or a lawn mower, etc.) is to pour a little oil into the spark plug hole(s) and turn it over a few times.

your lack of common sense amused me.
