Hey guys,

Had the unfortunate experience of driving to work yesterday and had my sunroof basically shatter. At first I thought it was a rock, but after an examination the window seems to be expanded out. There is a small hole (almost like a bullet hole) in the window where the shattering spider webbed out from. My thoughts are it might have occured due to a temperature change or pressure change. Just wondering if anyone has had this occur and might have any suggestions? I am taking it to Mazda today to see if it is covered by warranty.

someone was probaly trying to snipe u dead... hehe thus the "bullet" hole but strange for a sunroof to shatter like that.... and i don't think rocks can do that unless it's like a hugh rock dropping right on top of u.... or maybe was it ice/hale? how was the weather when it happened?

 

Sounds like a BB or pellet gun impact... We had a poster on here a while back that thought his rear window cracked/shattered from stress, but later found the impact hole of ammunition of some sort.

 

I forgot a soda in my car once and it exploded! All windows where up and it was 120 out!

 

do u guys live like some where high in the mountains and always go somewhere down the mountain thus the pressure change? if the pressure is that bad then it must be a pretty big elavation change... or else ur pop probally was just shaken b4 it was placed in the car...

Thanks for the input guys. I am pretty sure no one is trying to kill me, unless they like my car so much that they want it. hahaha

Anyways I will let you guys know if someone trys to shoot me again.
