Custom Exhaust

I recently came across a free cat back stock Mazda rx8 exhaust. My plan is to remove the stock muffler and replace it with either a single after market muffler, or two mufflers, either way i plan to keep the dual outlets. Curious if anyone had any plans, or pictures they could post up to aid in the process. Iv got a buddy who is a certified welder and also a great fabricator, so that end should not be an issue.

My only concerns are how to do the Y section since the stock obviously has a single inlet and dual outlet, and which muffler(s) to go with for the system. Or possibly go straight pipe with a resonator, who knows, throwing ideas around right now.

I did try to search before i get flamed, didn't come back with anything. (other than the shower curtain rod of an exhaust in the for sale section right now)

I wouldn't go straight pipe with a resonator I think that would still be way to loud. I forget where I have seen them but they do make aftermarket mufflers in the same shape as the Mazda OEM one.

Just look around at pictures of all the aftermarket exhausts you can buy that should give you an idea of what to have your friend do.

iv looked on borla and such but havent seen a single side inlet with the inline top and bottom outlets, do you have any ideas what company makes them. That would be ideal really.
