I bought Zerex Dex Cool coolant to use to top off the coolant already in my car. I was wondering if this is a coolant suited to use in my car. The guy at napa auto parts told me it was but this coolant is orange in color and i thought the rx8's coolant was green. If i am wrong please tell and let me know if this is a suitable coolant for the rx8.

 

The rx8's coolant is green do not add that Zerex Dex Cool coolant. Go to walmart and buy the 50/50 coolant that is already mixed.

 

^or go back to NAPA return the **** you got and ge3t 50/50...I got a gal. of autozone 50/50 for like 11 bucks a few months ago....don't ALWAYS listen to auto parts salesmen they don't always know what's up....

 

Does your car have an FL22 sticker on or near the coolant cap? If so, go to a Mazda dealer and buy some of that. If not, then you can get a name brand green coolant. Mix it 50/50 (or 55/45) coolant to water. FL22 is pre-mixed...and you can use that even if you don't have the sticker.

As long as your existing coolant is green.

If you mix green and orange coolant, it will turn black.
