Condition of my Cat. (pictures)

Well i took off my cat this morning and put on my turbo xs mid pipe and this is wat the cat looked like after 30k miles.

Can someone tell me what condition its in?

and also i have a question about my turbo xs midpipe. It didnt come with and gasket and i am having some exhaust leak on the side that goes to the exhasut manifold. Has anyone experienced this?

hey man im considering the turbo xs midpipe. can you post a sound clip please? i havent found one yet for the turbo xs. i have borla so i dont want to do something too extreme because i heard that some midpipes will make it sound like it has no exhaust piping at all haha.

It should look like this, http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=6665921
Your midpipe should have come with a 3 bolt gasket, mine was made of copper.

I don't think that is the O2 sensor, really is bizarre, (note spelling)

really i think this is the opposite..

i would hollow out the area above the o2 sensor... leave the block around the o2 sensor intact.

That's not an O2 sensor, it looks like a piece of square foam, like a shipping peanut or something. The O2 sensor end looks like a round metal cylinder

The open section in the cat looks like it was designed that way. If it broke the edges would be jagged, not smooth like is was formed/machined. I suppose it could fracture and break free, but where are the pieces then

it won't melt, maybe it was a manufacturing defect? Did you look at it when new?
