A Cobb AP is married to the car your tuning. You need to buy one. The only thing that you can do with a borrowed one is to read and reset ecu codes.
Actually you can tune it with a Cobb AP, save a copy of the tuned ECU image with a Harrison Programmer, unmarry the Cobb, then flash the the saved AP tune image back onto the PCM with the Harrison Programmer. The only issue is that you can only ever modify the tune by having the Cobb AP back. And the Harrison Programmer is $398. So it doesn't make sense unless more than 1 person is involved.
