Cleaning Racing beat REVi

Its been about a year since I had my REVi put in, I had a rotary shop do it for me. I understand that you should clean the filter with K&N cleaning kit? Do I have to take the intake out and clean it, or is it just opening the top and taking out the filter? Would anyone mind explaining how to do this?

You have to take off the strut bar and remove the MAF pipe then unbolt the filter from the intake box and take it out. Send an email to Racing Beat and ask them to send you the info on cleaning the filter.

After you do it the first time you will learn that you really don't have to take of the strut bar or anything else to get it out. It easier if you remove the entire accordion tube, and the MAF tube will have to come out for sure............but you can get the filter out without having to remove the accordion tube, you just need to be careful. If you look at the pdf file someone just gave you, you can see that they actually did remove the accordion tube itself, but there is just(and I mean just) enough room to get it out without having to do so, but it takes some strength. Also............there is a huge debate on whether or not to really oil the filter, so I would recommend that if you do, don't go overboard and lightly oil it.

Go to Autozone and buy the K&N Recharge kit.
It'll have instructions with it too.

don't over oil it.
your MAF will not like you. Other then that, these guys pretty much have this topic covered.

It's a very easy procedure, no sense in ever paying someone to do it for you
