If you have the K&N drop in filter, how often are you cleaning and re-oiling it? The instructions say 50,000 miles, but will it really last that long?

 

When I had a civic w/ kn filter, I usually did cleaning every 15k miles.

 

Your in Texas so ypu have the best sand and dust storms. This includes the normal dust that's in the air every day. Check it once a year. If dirty clean it.

A dusty enviroment is completely different. Do the white paper test. Put a pc of white paper outside in the morning, Make sure it's not in a windy place. When you come home check it out. See all that dirt. Make a judgement. The Highways are dirtier.
