cigarette lighter broken?

My lighter outlet stopped working...I had a g-tech pro plugged into it and it just went off one day, and now it doesn't power anything (the rear one does tho'). I'm assuming it's a fuse somewhere...I couldn't really figure out which one by looking at the fuse box. So which fuse is it exactly (if that's what it is even).

Since the acc. outlet in the rear is working also then it's most likely in the fuse panel on the interior drivers side. I believe one of the fuses in there is just for the cig lighter, nothing else. The one under the hood has mutiple uses then just the cig lighter.(pwr mirrors, access. outlet). Your owners manual has a description of the fuse panels and the corresponding fuses and sizes. According to mine it's fuse slot #1 and a 15 amp fuse. Someone correct me if my info is inaccurate. :D

yes...probably the "cigar" fuse is blown. it's a 15A fuse, located in the box under the steering wheel, near the hood release lever.

I am having a similar problem. I have used several different plug-in adapters in the lighter socket, and I am thinking that doing that might have caused some damage to the socket.

Mine went dead when trying to get the lighter to work yesterday. I replaced the fuse, and the socket was active again (could tell by green light on a cell phone charger plug-in). Then I tried inserting a brand new lighter...and the fuse blew again. So now...the lighter socket seems to work fine for everything except the lighter! I figure the various adapters may have bent something in the socket that is causing a short with the lighter.

Anyone else have similar problems?

i forgot to reconnect my cig lighter when putting together the center panel (gauge pod install)... i have no desire to take apart that center panel again.

take apart the cig adapter on the gtech. the outside metal things that contact the cig lighter on the sides, may have slipped inside the adapter and cause the gtech to ground and blow the fuse in the car.

took me a day and 3 fuses and taking the console out twice to figure it out.

pm me and i can photo it if what i said is not clear.
