IL Changing spark plugs

I have an 04 rx8 with about 35000 miles on it, and the manual recommends changing the spark plugs. So I'm thinking about taking my car to the school garage and having the mechanic teacher help me do it. Where should I the spark plugs and does it really make a difference if I change them? How will do u think it will take?

Thanks

Its not that hard. Like 20 min tops. The Trailing plugs are on top the Leading plugs are on the bottom. Thats it! GL
