Just like the title says, I've had this happen 3 or 4 times in the last couple months. It clears after I fill up and one or two drive cycles. This is from several different gas stations and different brands (Shell, BP, and Mobil).

Any ideas?

 

Without knowing the CEL code it will be hard to help you out. What kind of driving are you doing when the CEL shows up?

 

Just ordinary city driving, for the most part. It has always shown up when I first start the car.

I've thought about getting a scan gauge, maybe i'll have to think about that more now...

Do you premix? Could it be fuel starvation once there is less gas in the tank to help push fuel through the (gummed?) filter? Just throwing this out there, not sure if it would cause a CEL.
