CEL question

Can you clear the CEL to see if the problems been fixed. Because last time my CEL came on it was the gas cap(wasnt on tight enough) And i need to drive to NY this weekend.

the dealer cant take me till monday. And when autozone scans it it always says link error(had that problem at autozone before with the 8)

I tried the method in the sticky but it didnt work. Holding the odo reset.

That does not clear the CEL either, I just did that on Monday before I took my car in for the EVAP pressure issue (gas cap).

yea i did that to and it didnt work. I drove five hours straight after the light came on and have been driving since then and no problems. Im guessing its the gas cap again because i had just put gas in it but i always make sure i turn the cap enough now.

If the CEL is related to the gas cap not sealing, and you have corrected that, the CEL will self-clear after a certain number of on-off cycles of the car. I'm sorry I don't know how many, but maybe someone else has the number.
